Tunisian check scarf pattern now available

New York City goes Tunisian!

What a fun time at the Lion Brand Yarn Studio! The staff is top-notch: knowledgeable and courteous. Also hard-working – you should have seen those women moving furniture and boxes around to set up for the event. They are real pros, and they could not have been nicer. It is great to see Lion Brand offering fibers like bamboo, cashmere, and mohair. So many design possibilities with this variety of products. And how about those knitting needles in the window? Someone call Gulliver.

It was standing-room only. I had lots of Tunisian samples from my book, but I think the most popular was the honeycomb skirt, which I was wearing. There were some excellent questions about Tunisian techniques, and a lot of interaction and laughter during the evening. It was really gratifying to have people tell me after the talk that they were inspired by the possibilities for Tunisian crochet.

I introduced a new pattern, Tunisian Check Scarf, in conjunction with the event. It is made from Lion Brand Alpine Wool. More information next week.
