With Labor Day coming up in less than a week, it’s time to have some end-of-summer fun and then get ready for some upcoming classes and events.
I’ll be doing a Tunisian crochet class and book-signing at Woolbearers on Thursday, September 24 from 7-9 p.m. The store is in Mill Race Village, 90 High St., Mt. Holly NJ. Phone 609-914-0003. Woolbearers has an impressive selection of yarn, patterns, roving, dyeing supplies, spinning and weaving equipment … a yarn-lover’s dream! Please visit their website, www.WoolBearers.com, for more information about the store and to register for the event. (My friend Mary Beth Temple – yes, Ms. “Getting Loopy” herself! – will be teaching a class at Woolbearers in November.)
Next up is my evening of Tunisian crochet at the Lion Brand Yarn Studio in NYC on Thursday, October 1 from 6-8 p.m. The studio is at 34 W. 15th Street, 212-243-9070. It’s a wonderful space with an amazingly creative and energetic staff. And who could resist that cute little squirrel knitting in the window display? Announcements and invitations should be coming in early September. For information or to register for the mailing list, visit www.LionBrandYarnStudio.com.
Saturday, October 11 from 2-4 p.m. I’ll be giving a Tunisian crochet class and signing books at Stitches with Style (www.StitchesWithStyle.net), 16 Polly Drummond Shopping Center 16E, Newark, DE, 302-453-8130. This shop has been on my radar for a while now, so I can’t wait to get there. A large teaching space with comfy seating, surrounded by a wide selection of yarn – should be a really nice afternoon.
