s & Noble in Wilmington, Delaware. A knitting group meets there regularly, so they invited me to come during their usual time. Special thanks to Joan for inviting me – we have a previous connection through a yoga class – and to Amanda at Barnes & Noble for setting things up in a comfortable lounge area. Two of my students from A Garden of Yarn were nice enough to come also. The scarf pictured here was created by Catherine using my “Crocheted Cable Scarf” pattern. I love the yarn she chose and the skill with which she executed the pattern. Wow!
It was a lively afternoon, full of enthusiastic yarnies eager to learn Tunisian crochet. I talked briefly about how I got started writing crochet books, and about my design and pattern-writing philosophy, then we got to work. The group was quick on the uptake. Lisa and Catherine, thank you for helping your neighbors when they needed some guidance. We accomplished the Tunisian simple stitch and the Tunisian knit stitch, as well as how to finish a piece. Like everyone who gets a taste of this technique, the group seemed eager to try some other stitches and projects on their own.
