“Florine” pattern available from Louet

I created this shapely shell for Louet North America in Tunisian crochet using Gems 100% merino wool fine/sport weight. This top looks great by itself or over a blouse. I'm going to make several in other colors just for myself! The pattern is available for purchase at Louet.com.

On my mannequin, the horizontal ribbing hits below the bust; the model must have a longer torso than "Louise." It is easy to alter the position of the empire waist by changing the number of rows between the horizontal line and the armhole shaping. More rows = lower waist, fewer rows = higher waist. The pattern is also flexible with the distance between waist and hips. Crocheting more ribbed rows will make the garment longer and will give more midriff/waist/below-the-waist coverage. Choose the look that's right for you!
